Creative A510 Speaker Review

Creative have come out with a set of 5.1 Surround sound set of speakers for £51.99.

These 5.1 Surround sound Speakers sound great and are fairly cheap.  The Set contains A 15w Subwoofer and 5 5w satellite speakers. To use these in your computer you need a 5.1 compatible sound card, If you don’t have one you can pick on up from PC World for £19.

The audio that comes out of these is very crisp and doesn’t distort when playing loud, bass heavy music. To get the best out of these speakers, you need to play the music with a media player that supports Surround sound like Nero 9 and above.

The in-line volume control is very handy as if your Keyboard doesn’t have media keys. When Playing Games like Need For Speed, the surround sound comes in very handy as you get the feel that the other cars are around you, it’s a similar story with Minecraft. In Minecraft when you are mining, you can tell which ‘way the zombies and creepers are as its like you are in the game with the sound coming from all directions.

So, in conclusion, These speakers are very good and give great audio and are built very well and for £50, you cant complain.

HP x23LED monitor Review

HP have made a monitor that is 23” big and has a led BACKLIGHT.

This monitor has a screen size of 23inchs and a resolution of 1920x1080 so the picture is very sharp and detailed. You can connect the monitor in two different ways, these are DVI and VGA. I find it a shame that they haven’t included a HDMI port as it is a 1080p monitor.

The case of the monitor is piano black on the front and matte on the back.

The piano black plastic collects dust very easily so needs cleaning a lot. On the back there is the video inputs and the 12v DC IN socket. But a downside is there is no Visa mount so it can’t be wall mounted, however there is a Kensington lock, so can be used in offices without risk of it been stolen. Back to the font, there is a HP logo and the menu Buttons and a blue power light. On the top and bottom there is just some vent.

So, to round it up, it is a very good monitor and costs £230, and has a very sharp picture, I rate is 4 stars.

Pros: 1080p, 23”, DVI, Price, looks.

cons: no HDMI, No visa mount, collects dust and finger prints.

Apple iPad Mini Review

Apple have come and made a smaller version of the ever-popular iPad but with a 7.9” display.

The iPad mini has got many of the features of the iPad 2 but in a smaller form factor. As the iPad mini has got the same CPU and memory amount, the performance is similar.  The iPad is running the latest version of IOS, which is IOS 6.2. And has the Siri feature.

The model I have is the 32GB Wi-Fi only one. I find the iPad mini easier to use than the iPad 2 as the boarders are smaller and it is easier to type on.

As it is an iPad, it still has the App Store and the apps run smoothly and look great on the 7.9” IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1024x768. The only down side is that all movies have to be in the MP4 format to work with iPad.

Syncing my videos and other things were very easy using iTunes and I chose to use the USB2 to lightning cable to do this, as it is faster than WI-FI. The iPad supports WI-FI 802.11 a/b/g/n.

As far as hardware goes, here are the specs: Apple A5 CPU, 512Mb Ram, Stereo Speakers, Lightning Connector, 5MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi.

Right, now to the looks of the device. On the back there is a Black Apple Logo, the word iPad and the 5MP iSight Camera. The black and slate model that I have looks very nice, but collects fingerprints like a magnet. On the right side of the device now, there are two volume button and the mute switch. On the top there is the sleep/wake button, microphone and the 3.5mm Headphone jack. On the edge of the black version there is a beveled edge, similar to the iPhone 5’s.

When you first turn it on you are greeted with an apple logo as usual and then the patented ‘Slide To Unlock Screen”.

Once you have set it up, you can start using it. The iPad mini has 35% more screen space than the Nexus 7 or Samsung Galaxy tab 2 7”. So it can still fit I one hand but it feels a lot bigger.

The battery life is very good, as with all Apple Products. It last a whopping 13 Hours on one charge. The iPad min is incredibly thin, 5mm in fact.

Intensive games run very well on the device, here are my list of recommended games: Angry Birds, Minecraft PE, Flow Free, Frisbee 2, Extreme Road trip 2, Zombiewood, Streaker!, Glass Tower 2 HD, Temple Run, CSR Racing, and Prize Claw HD

So, this a exelent device and I cant really flaw it so I rate it the full 5 stars

Pros: Size, cameras, High res screen, battery, Looks, Feel, Speed, Storage.

Cons: Price (£360 for 32Gb wifi only)

Samsung Galaxy S3 MIni Review

Hey guys. its back with another review here! Today im going to be doing a review on the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Mobile Phone running on Android 4.1.2.

So, to start off, ill do a quick overview of the device;

On the front of the device: There is a 4" Super AMOLED Touchscreen, which is vety bright thanks to samsung's Super AMOLED Technology. It is easyl to view even on minimum Brightness. There is also a home button, and two touch sensitive Back and Menu buttons.

On the top; There is a 3.5mm headphone jack and that is all.

On the right there is the power Button and on the bottom the Micro USB Charging connector. on the left now, its the volume rocker.

So, thats the overview done, so lets get on to the specifications.

The S3 mini comes equiped with a NOVATHOR U8420 Chipset, a 1Ghz Dual core Cortex A9 Processor for speedy and swift operation. The phone is also fitted out with a MALI400 GPU, which is average for this price range.

The S3 mini has 1GB of ram, so you wont notice much slowness on apps and games. The phone as GPS Navigation and also AGPS (Assisted GPS) and GLONASS support. ( Global Navigation Satellite System)

The camera is average on the S3 mini at 5MP with LED Flash, so done expect Amazing photos, but it does get the job done well.

Now the specifications are out the the way, lets get onto using it. When you first turn on the device, you will get a setup screen, so follow the instructions and its all set up! Once the setup has completed, you will have to sype the lock screen to unlock the device to begin using it. Samsung has loaded the phone with its custom interface called 'TouchWhiz Nature UX' It offers a very nice, glossy interface and looks awesome in my opininon. The interface is customisable and offers a smooth transitions between homepages. The phone feels nice in the hand, it has some weight to it, but not too much. The phone weighs 111.5g and is sturdy. The battery is 3.8v Lithium iron at 5.7watts. The phone also has NFC (Near Field Communication). As soon as you power up the device you will notice the the 4" Superamoled display with a resolution of 800x400. The phone has little lag in games, but is perfectly playable. the only other lag is when you first turn on the phone.

The camera is 5MP and produces 720P HD video as 30FPS. The photos are average quality but they will be good enough for internet sharing and small prints. The camera's LED flash helps to brighten up darker areas.

So, to wrap up, this is a very good smartphone that has Android 4.1.2 and a battery life of about 8 hrs on medium brightness. I recomend this phone as it is only  £150 in the UK from the Carphone Warehouse.
